Three-phase point
In the two-dimensional projection of a three-phase system, a three-phase point is a point which is common to the three phase boundary lines. In the frequently considered case of a sessile drop on a solid surface in air when measuring the contact angle, this is the transition point between the liquid/solid, liquid/gas and solid/gas boundary lines.
